Mekal started in 1954 with Mr. Otto Kadow, the first generation of Kadows born in Brazilian soil. Coming from a family of steel workers in Germany, he soon became a reference in the art of welding Stainless Steel.

As the word spread out, foreign companies stabilishing in the country, such as Nestlé, Rhodia and Squibb, began placing their orders with Mr. Otto. As Stainless Steel kitchen countertops were familiar to these costumers, soon Mr. Otto began providing his services not only to the companies, but also for their executives' homes.

Mr. Kadow's Stainless Steel countertops became an instant success and soon he opened his first store. In 1967 his son, Valdo Keneth, joined the company and together they launched Mekal to new markets, including stores in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Toronto, Canada.

In early 2000's Mr. Valdo Keneth's sons Christian and Keneth, joined the team to bring new perspectives and continue this beautiful Stainless Steel legacy.

Today Mr. Valdo Keneth is the Chairman of the Board, advising Chris, Sales and Marketing Director, and Ken, the company's CEO.

Quality, Responsability, Innovation, and Hard Work were values forged in 1954 and passed on from generation to generation.
The timeline will continue.
